Rhys Lewis, who enjoys riding the Tour of Pembrokeshire, has recenty taken part in his first duathalon down-under in New Zealand. It was the first of three races in the Canterbury Duathalon series and it took place in Rolleston, near Christchurch, on Sunday 8th June. The long course was a 5km run, a 28 km bike and finished with a 2.5km run. Rhys really enjoyed the event and has entered the remaining two races! And it’s not just duathlons that interest him, he played rugby Springston RFC the day before!
Rhys left Pembrokeshire for New Zealand over three years ago having taken part in the Tour of Pembrokeshire twice and the ToP jersey was a Christmas present to remind him of home! His family are all great fans of the event and his mother, Tracey, recently took part in The Women versus Cancer Ride The Night event in London with Sandra Vaughan who riders will know from Crug Glas.
