Well Done to All Cyclists who completed this years event.
Shame the weather wasn't better, hopefully the sunshine will
resume next year. This years
results
and
photographs are posted below.
Welcome once again to our web site which this year supports our next event
scheduled for 7th June 2009.
From reaction on the day and subsequent email feedback etc, it is very
apparent that our 2008 sportive was a success. For examples of such
feedback please click here. The organisers are of course delighted, and
thank all those who took part (more than 500 registered riders), coming from all
parts of the U.K. We are also indebted to all helpers on the day.
From the content of the emails you will see that our marshals etc have also
received tremendous, well deserved praise.
So much for 2008. As the saying goes, ‘you are only as good as your
next event’. The organisers are very aware of this and so their efforts in
planning and executing 2009 will be no less intensive.
There are no plans to materially change the 2008 routes. This will give
all newcomers the chance to experience the pain and torture. For those
that rode in 2008, no change will not only give those that rode 100km the
opportunity to ride the 200km route (and vice versa!), but everybody will no
doubt be comparing their 2009 time with that achieved in 2008.
The organisers are committed to develop and improve upon the 2008
event and are currently arranging to introduce the following for
2009.
- Post Ride Meal and Liquid Refreshment
- Additional Route Signage and Marshalling
- Additional Route Vehicle Support
- Achievement Certificates
Our online entry will be open with effect from 1st October 2008. We will be
imposing a limit of 1300 riders so, to avoid disappointment, early registration
is strongly recommended.
When registering, if you have not already done so
it is important to enrol to receive our newsletters. This will be our only
means of communication. Please also add our address to your list of
contacts, in order to ensure that emails issued by us are not dumped into your
junk mail.
We look forward to seeing you on 7th June 2009.
Finally, the organisers would very much like to raise funds for WALES AIR
AMBULANCE as a bi-product of the event. Sponsorship is not mandatory, but any
funds raised will be gratefully received. So go on, pester a few of your mates.
We are sure that all concerned will take great satisfaction in donating to this
very worthwhile organisation. None of us know when their service might be
required for us and our families. Hopefully never. Please refer to Fundraising
for further information.

Bryan Jones
